Seville is a city located in the Spanish autonomous community of Andalusia. Whether you want to see a flamenco performance, get a taste for the tapas scene, walk through quaint neighborhoods or observe eye-catching monuments, Seville encapsulates an ambivalent and enticing nature, which no tourist can ignore.
Why visit Seville?
Despite visiting at the start of March, the temperature was around 20 degrees plus, making it the ideal winter-sun, European escape. As well as this, the city is bursting with culture and history - which makes it most travellers' paradise, as there are lots of things to see and do!
Out of the places I've visited in Spain, I'd say Seville is definitely on the cheaper side - with tapas from 1.50 euros and sangria from 3 euros. March time is part of the off-peak season, meaning even lower rates and less crowds. As an affordable and easily accessible city, it particularly appeals to those who are after a short and/or budget weekend trip.
My experience of Aire Ancient Baths, Seville
Tucked away in the Santa Cruz neighborhood, you can find Aire Ancient Baths, which beckons visitors inside with its promise of relaxation and rejuvenation. As you enter into the serene oasis, your senses are immediately soothed by the aesthetically pleasing reception area and the sound of trickling water.
The interior of the place has a blend of traditional charm with a touch of modernity. Seville is actually the birthplace of Aire Ancient Baths, dating back to its opening in October, 2001. Since then, the building has been restored to fit its current purpose, but its original Moorish design still remains intact, with intricate tilework and elegant arches.
As you make your way up to the changing room, the dim lights in the corridors immediately transport you to a space of opulence. You are then provided with a body and face towel, spa shoes (for hygiene), a robe, as well as a spacious locker where you can leave all of your personal items.
On reaching the baths, you are greeted by a member of staff, who guides you through the ‘thermal bath circuit’. This includes; a steam room, pools with a range of temperatures, jet and salt baths - all of which can be toured at your own pace.
Other add-ons include; Ultimate Bath, Ancient Relaxing Massage and more. You can find the full list of experiences available here.
In between the different experiences you can indulge in a cup of tea or some water, in either the scenic courtyard or another secluded corner.
But it doesn’t stop there. Above the baths, there is a rooftop retreat with unparalleled views of Seville's iconic Cathedral and La Giralda. You can lounge on one of the sunbeds, take a dip in the pool, or even enjoy the ideal pairing of cava and truffles, all against a stunning backdrop. Aire Ancient Baths provide a unique sensory experience, recuperating the ancient tradition of bath houses. Their services are enjoyed in various locations around the world - serving as an escape, and mode of relaxation, within bustling city hubs.
